Easter Cake

I decided to make this cake for Easter. I got the idea off of the Wilton website and thought it would be a piece of cake (no pun intended). Needless to say, it was a lot more difficult than I imagined, but the end result was pretty good.

Cake Decorating Classes

I started cake decorating classes. I started with the beginner classes, but I quickly realized that I should have started in a more advanced class. The beginner class is VERY beginner. They show you what a pastry bag is, how to make icing....etc.

This was my first project. I had to ask for an advanced project because the first project the class was making a rainbow on a cake.

Ok, who is next to have a baby? I am ready to make a cake!

Brad Paisley Concert

Last Friday we went to a Brad Paisley concert. This is the 2nd time that we have seen him in concert. I love country music, and Josh likes all the guitars.

Miranda Lambert was the special guest, and she was my favorite part of the concert.....what a voice!

Superbowl Party

This was our 3rd year of attending the superbowl party at the Delgado's. As usual, there was lots of good food, good company, and lots of tequilla shots. I thought it was really cold, but it seemed like I was the only one that was freezing.

Casino Night

Last Saturday was the annual Casino Night at St. Josephs. This year was a sports theme (no, Josh and I did not dress up).

We spent most of our night at the craps table. We were doing pretty well....too bad we weren't playing fo real money.

Superbowl Cakes!

I made some individual cakes to take to The Delgado's Superbowl party. They turned out so cute. I only made about 30, but boy did it take a LONG time.

The Saints cakes were chocolate cake with ganache as frosting, and then fondant was used to make the footballs.



The Colts cake was french vanilla, also with ganache as frosting.

Gotta love balls!

Bailee and Layla are obsessed with balls....especially plush ones. These girls rarely lay next to each other, but the other day they were both with their balls and happy as can be!

Notice Bailee's paw on her ball. She always does this to ensure that Layla doesn't steal it and to make sure that it doesn't roll away ( I am pretty sure that she is a genius)!

Scrap Obsession!

Let me start off by saying that I never thought that I would get so excited about scrapbooking and crafts. But it seems that this is a big deal to me. I absolutely LOVE all of this stuff. As I previously discussed, I have a craft closet that is dedicated for just my crafts and wrapping stuff. I have recently made some improvements and purchases.

Just yesterday I got an amazing deal on this paper sorter. I have really been wanting one of these, but they are usually pretty pricey and hard to find. But I found one!

I got my second ribbon organizer, and now I have room for more ribbon!

This is going to sound funny, but sometimes I just sit in my scrap closet and look at all of my stuff....it makes me so happy (and helps get the creative juices flowing)!

The Latest Liebel Wedding!

January 2nd was Jayme and Andrew's wedding. After having a wedding of my own, I appreciate weddings much more than I did before. I now realize all the time, money, and thought that goes into these events. Also, weddings make me think of my wedding day and all the happy memories.

Everyone arrived at the hotel early, so we had a pre-party in Craig and Val's hotel room.

The ceremony was short and sweet, so the fun began fast. The freshly married couple posing for pics.

It wouldn't be a Liebel wedding without lots of shots getting taken.

Craig brought Patron in his flask to toast Andrew with. Not sure how I was also convinced to take one (ok, it probably didn't take that much convincing).

I remember 5 months ago when this was me, and I was horrified. This tradition is so embarrasing for the women.


It also would not be a Liebel wedding without Craig tearing up the dance floor.

Prized Possession - New Ribbon Holder!!!

I have always had hopes of being crafty. After the wedding I decided to make it happen. So I began scrapbooking, making my own cards, painting ornaments...all kinds of things. Due to all of this, I now need space to put all of my supplies. We have a large walk in closet in our bonus room that has been designated as "my craft closet." Nothing else is allowed to go in that closet.

For Christmas my husband got me this great ribbon organizer (ok, I picked it out, but he still ordered it). I have a ton of ribbon and now need a second one. But I really love being able to organize my ribbon according to season and color!!!
